Busy Weekend!

We have been so busy that I have not had time to stop. Yes, I do realise that the weekend has come and gone and it is only now that I have paused to sit down at the computer. Phew….for a start…here are some Cacao Fest pictures from Saturday. Our stall was tucked away in the corner between these boinging things and some parked cars. We were quite tough to spot!!

This is a big crowd in Punta Gorda!

It was really hot and dry (still no rains!). Gnome said that sitting in the heat for the whole day was punishing! I told him that we had to make an appearance sometime even if it was only once a year!

On Sunday, we were off to Belmopan. Double Goosey is our new hailing signal…meaning “may all travelers be blessed with golden eggs.”

We joined the runners of the Diabetic Run 2016 at Palacio’s Retreat. What a lovely place for a party:

The Diabetic Run was a success…well done to our friend Sharon Palacio for organising such an extra-ordinary event.

Zazen Soap!!

Together.Sea.of.Tranquility So what’s our latest tout…or clout? Not only do we have Zazen duckies but we have Zazen soap! I have noticed that at some point, when we have done enough hours of an activity (Yes that 10000 hours thing), it evolves into an art. The other day, we had a moment of clarity whilst mixing up soap; we realised that by clearing our head of the internal dialogue (you know…the usual blah blah blah voice in your head) the soap mixes perfectly with no hitches. In contrast to this, when we are feeling chaotic, we get early thickening of the mixture and lumpy bits so that the soap has to be poured in haste. There you go…The Zen of Soap making by Munchkin and Gnome!!

Look at this soap…it is smooth and silky like custard:

…better than maximal velocity soap. You can’t get better than Zazen!

More Apothecary Pictures.

Munchkin.Kimono.Table I have updated The Apothecary section of our Website and finally (it has been more than a year) put in the following pictures:

This is our Body Salt Scrub range available in lemongrass, lavender, passionflower and ylang-ylang scents. The scents are all made from plant extracts or essential oils.

Here is the Foot Spa Range which is also available in the same scents. These foot soaks are ideal for soothing tired or swollen feet or used as a natural anti-fungus (Athlete’s Foot) remedy. Or you could just use it as a relaxing treat!

Last but not least, here is a picture of our Chocolate Velvet range which is available in original, orange, mint and all-spice flavours:

All labels are designed by Gnome, printed out here in the middle of the bush and pasted by yours truly. These are Authentic 100% Munchkin and Gnome products. Be aware of “Made in China” Cheapo copies!! 😉

Hello Everyone. This is a late post for me but I decided I had to keep the Blog going to bring the traffic in!! I have noticed that if I don’t write for about three days, our viewing statistics go down. Anyway, we found a whole load of missing Apothecary pictures stuck in a nameless file in the computer. We have downloaded them and I will be sticking them in the appropriate places in our website very soon. Meanwhile, enjoy our picture gallery!

Chocolate Swirl Soap. Hand-made with Toledo cacao and coconut oil.

Our Chocolate Mint Body Wash is made from coconut oil castile soap (totally detergent free) which lathers up very nicely. A must for any chocolate lover out there!

The Lemongrass Foot Spa is great for tired, achy feet. It also acts as a natural deodorant and anti-fungal so it can be used for Athlete’s Foot.

Hello Everyone!! Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) will be holding their annual organic fair at PG park today (31st October 2015). We will be there armed with our Casa Mascia Goodies.

This one is always a favourite at fairs: Cheap Sale (or Runaway Sale or Explosive-One-Time-Only Sale or Everything-Must-Go-Sale!!

Come and rummage through our bargain box: there will be all sorts of exciting things (exclusive once off) like Cacao and Lemongrass Insect Repellent, Lavender balm, Grapefruit Balm, Tooth-powder or Tooth-whitener with lovely essential oils and lots more. You can’t beat a bargain!

We will also be selling fresh Balam (Mayan White Cacao) fruit for all you organic gardeners out there.

Coconut Squares with Chocolate Drizzle.

Yum!!! Another dessert from the Munchkin kitchen: Coconut Squares with Chocolate Drizzle. This dessert is soft and richly textured and it is so easy to make. The chocolate sauce is made from coconut cream too!

Yes, you may have guessed it…torrential rain every night so that the farm is covered in puddles (getting to pools actually). So, what else can I do but sequester myself in the kitchen and cook up yummy stuff with our lovely coconuts!

The chocolate sauce complements the sweet very well; it is made from Cotton Tree Chocolate:

and our own coconut cream.
